This blog is in existence because of some pretty cool people.
Here's my {constantly growing, ever evolving} list of shout outs:
Elise Cripe at http://eliseblaha.typepad.com/
I was lucky enough to get a recommendation about her web design class at the first of the year and have not looked back since. She's an amazing teacher that breaks the most complicated HTML code down into bits that anyone could understand. Two weeks into taking her six week class, my friends started to tell me I had a "real blog"; that, my freinds, is a good feeling.
Katrina at http://www.puglypixel.com/
I ran across Katrina's blog via an ad on A Beautiful Mess which I talked about the other day. {Dear potential sponsor's- Ads work.}Katrina's blog immediately drew me in with her understated design and the word "freebies". She designs so many cool things for bloggers including clip art, textures, and {my personal favorite}photo layouts.
Her photo layouts are what I use to put the frames around a lot of the buttons around my site. Super grateful for that. Also, her photoshop tutorials are super informative (and usually set to fun music)- you should check them out.
Vanessa Lam at http://www.losttype.com
Lost type is an extremely cool site where graphic designers have gotten together to set up a site based on the "pay-what-you-want" model. This means that companies as big as ESPN and the X Games have access to the same amazing work as I do. The font I use is called Vevey which is "inspired by a vintage travel poster found in the Swiss Riveria". Tres sophisticate, no?
