Vacation is for relaxing right?
Do things you wouldn't normally do?
Sleeping in, spending money on fun things, start a vintage camera collection....
Did I lose you on that last one? Yeah, I thought I may.
Yesterday started out as a super lazy day: There was rain in the forecast and rain on the window. The bed was amazingly comfortable and nothing too pressing. In fact, it was the Mister who asked me at lunch if I had made it to the vintage store. You may remember that, the other day, I mentioned wanting to re-do a room. I was thinking of making a wall of antique mirrors similar to a stairway I saw at the B&B we stayed at this past weekend. After lunch I went to the store where I had seen this mirror that I came across a few weeks ago, only to find out (horror of horrors) it was gone. My little vintage loving heart was hurt but not totally broken... because I found another love.

And right next to it I found this one.

Which led the incredibly nice shopkeepers to show me to the other cameras they had on the floor, which is how I came across this one.

And I just couldn't go home without his fancy big brother.

Aren't they amazing?
I absolutely love how different they are from each other and how they only slightly resemble current-day cameras. I know that they were originally intended as tools to make images and art but to me they are beautiful tools. And I'm so happy to put them in my home
And yes, the brass snail hitched a ride from the shop as well. He was just too cute to pass up.
p.s. I shot these pictures with my new camera (as opposed to my normal iPhone awesomeness). Definitely starting on #2 of the list as well.
